Most of the Marc Anthony lines are sulphate free.
Unlike shampoo with Conditioner, you want to squeeze most of water/moisture out of your hair – you can do this by wrap your hair around your fingers and squeezing all the excess water out
- Spread the conditioner out into your hands as if it was moisturizer
- Condition your hair around 5cm away from the scalp
- It does not lather – so you smooth it through the hair not massage or rub it
- Leave it in for at least 1 minute to make sure the product penetrates the hair.
- Rinse – the temperature here can be cool to cold as this seals/closes the pores and leaves you feeling invigorated

- Depending on the type of heat protectant, you may apply it on damp hair or dry hair before using any hot tools, including blow dryers, curling irons, and straightening irons.
- Apply section by section, and comb through to distribute the product evenly.
- Style as required or leave hair to dry natural

The answer to how often to shampoo hair lies in your hair type – if your hair isn’t particularly oily, 3-4 times a week should be enough. Oily hair? You might need to wash it daily. And if you have thick, curly or dry hair, then weekly should be fine.
Like our skin, our hair requires different care when seasons and weather change (who knew?).
In Summer, our hair can frizz due to high humidity, while chlorine and seawater damage mean we need good conditioning products to help avoid damage
In Winter – just as with skin, dryness is an issue so we need good clarifying and scalp care products
Straighteners and curling irons heat your hair to somewhere between 95 and 170 °C.
When your hair heats up above 130 °C (266 °F), a few types of damage occur:
- The pigments that give your hair its colour change (e.g. bleached hair goes brassy)
- The keratin proteins that give your hair its strength and elasticity break down
- The outer surface (cuticle) of the hair cracks and frays
- Moisture evaporates from the inside of the hair (and if your hair is wet, the steam will blast through your hair’s structure, destroying it as it leaves)
- Shampoo can be thought of as an opener that allows the follicles of the hair to be cleaned
- Shampoo contains molecules called surfactants. These emulsify, allowing your oils to mix with water
- When you rinse, the water takes the emulsion with it, including all the dirt and grease
- The more grease there is attached to the surfactant molecules, the less the shampoo will lather. That’s why the first time you wash really dirty hair, you might not get a huge lather – but repeat it after rinsing and you’ll notice your lather is much bigger the second time around
